Fitment & Loading
Vehicle compatibility, loading process, and securing your load.
Can I carry more than one motorcycle?
Yes. The 5.5m deck and slotted tie-down system make SHIFTR ideal for carrying multiple bikes securely.
Will my vehicle fit on SHIFTR?
SHIFTR is designed to transport sports cars, classic cars, race cars, small SUVs, motorcycles and powersports equipment. If you're unsure, contact us with your vehicle's length, width, weight, and ground clearance and we'll confirm compatibility.
How low can a car be without needing ramps?
SHIFTR is designed to load very low vehicles without ramps. The hydraulic tilt system lowers the deck to create a shallow 4° loading angle, allowing many low sports cars to drive straight on. Exact clearance depends on your vehicle's front overhang and ground clearance.
Can I open the driver's door once loaded?
Yes. The deck is raised using the SmartControl™ remote, which you take with you while loading the vehicle. Once the trailer is raised, you can open the driver's door to exit. In rare cases, vehicles with extremely low doors may not clear the fenders when raised — in these situations, a recovery winch can be used for loading instead. Get in touch if you'd like to confirm compatibility for your specific vehicle.
Are the fenders removable?
SHIFTR fenders are not quick-release like Futura trailers, but they can still be removed if required by undoing a small number of bolts.
What is the deck width and usable width?
The NZ SHIFTR features a 2050 mm wide deck, designed to suit a wide range of vehicles. With generous usable width between the fenders, it comfortably accommodates many modern performance cars and SUVs.
